The following types of publications are acceptable: regular paper, review, brief communication and announcements for conferences and symposia. The languages of the journal are English and Bulgarian.
The manuscripts of the regular papers should not exceed 20 pages, including an Abstract in the language of the paper, illustrations, tables and references. The reviews should not exceed 30 pages, and the brief communications – 8 pages. If exceeding of the maximum allowed volume is unavoidable, the authors must be ready to pay a charge determined by the Editorial office. The manuscripts must be submitted in one hard copy or in pdf-format, with 30 rows per page, 60-65 characters per row. After accepting the paper for publication, the authors must submit it in MS Word.doc-format, containing the text, without hyphenation.
The papers must be formatted according to the following rules:
• Font – Times New Roman, Size 14;
• Page Setup – Top 2.0 cm, Bottom 2.0 cm, Left 2.5 cm, Right 2.5 cm;
• Paper Size – A4, Line Spacing 1.5 lines, First Line by 1 cm;
• Title – Capital letters, Centered, Bold;
• Please, leave blank lines between the following parts;
• Author name(s) – centered, bold, numbered in Superscript after the names (in a case when the authors have different affiliations);
• Authors’ affiliations - addresses – centered, presented on a separate row, with the respective numbers in Superscript at the beginning; the corresponding author should provide an e-mail and fax No.
• Abstract – one paragraph up to 20 rows, presenting the problem and/or the objectives, more important results and the main inference and contributions. Avoid citing references.
• Key words – up to 6, and if possible, not repeating words from the title.
• Text – the traditional structure is recommended: Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion (the last two could be merged), Conclusions, Acknowledgments and References. These parts and the sub-titles must be in bold, left-lined, on separate rows. Standard abbreviations must be used. The non-specific abbreviation should be given in brackets after the first mentioning of the respective term. SI-system units must be used. Use m.s-1 instead m/s. Standard binomial nomenclature should be used for the scientific names of the taxa. When a given nomen appear first in the text, the authors name should be given as well. The Latin names below the family rank must be italicized.
• The tables must be numbered according to their appearance in the text. They should have titles above; the content must be centered, single line spacing, Size 10.
• Black and white figures must be done using some of the most popular software packages. They should be integrated with the text, numbered and with centered text below. The scanned images must be saved in TIF or JPEG format, at minimum 200 dpi. Printing of colour figures could be done after additional payment by the authors depending on the figure size.
• Citing references – the references must be cited with the authors names. When the authors are more than two, then the name of the first author is written followed by “et al.” For example, “The studies of Ivanov et al. (2005) showed that…”, or “This was confirmed by many authors (Ivanov et al. 2005, Jones et al. 2006)”.
• References – only the references cited in the text should be included here. They must be arranged in alphabetical order, without numbering. The references in other, less popular languages, must be translated into English and at the end the original language must be indicated in brackets.

• The pages should be numbered.
Additional requirements:
• The tables and figures must be submitted in separate sheets, and the original files (for example, in Excel format) must be presented separately.
• The names, titles and degrees of the authors are desirable, together with the name of the respective institutions, address, phone and e-mail.
• Each manuscript will be reviewed by an independent reviewer. The opinion and the remarks of the reviewer will be provided to the author for correspondence within two months.
• The final versions of the papers, in pdf-format and in MS Word.doc format should be sent to the Editorial office within a month after receiving the opinion and remarks of the reviewer.
• The papers will be published according to their order of acceptance.
• No manuscripts will be returned to authors.
